IKEA Helps Children Take A Stand" Event Set For May
Furniture World News
As the mercury rises, these summer store fronts are built in front yards across the country. Manned by pint-sized professionals with big dreams and even bigger smiles, these retail outlets pass along cold glasses of refreshment and healthy servings of Americana. We're talking about lemonade stands... and this summer IKEA will supply children with tools to open their own.
On Saturday, May 16th from 11:00 to 5:00 PM, the "IKEA Helps Children Take A Stand" event will provide children with the basics for ensuring a sweet (not sour) summer.
At IKEA stores throughout the country, lemonade stand "seminars" will furnish children with free "Summer Squeeze Packs (supplies are limited, one per child), including pitchers, ice cube trays, lemonade packets, recipes, lemonade T-shirts, and more. Additionally, some of these "seminars" will feature small business advisors/financial consultants who will provide tongue- in- cheek start-up tips to young CEO's in training and distribute college fund savings information to parents.
"Families are extremely important to IKEA,"said Marty Marston, spokesperson for IKEA. "And by providing these lemonade stand necessities, we're offering children and their parents a summer activity that is both fun and educational. I don't think any parent could deny the pure enjoyment of watching a child spread their young entrepreneurial wings."
And who knows... behind the lemonade stands of today may be the business leaders of tomorrow. Watch out Donald and Bill!
