Clear Thinking Group has promoted retail and consulting veteran Michael Davis from senior manager to managing director.
In his new position, Davis, who joined Clear Thinking Group at its inception in April 2002, will lead the firm’s Process and Productivity Improvement Practice Group, reporting to CEO Stuart Kessler.
“Michael has been an important contributor to our growth over these past two years, playing a key role on several major projects, including the development of a new merchandise organization for a $500 million retail chain and a labor scheduling program for a $300 million Christian products retailer,” said Kessler. “His wide range of headquarters, field and store level experience in various retail segments will prove invaluable as he assumes leadership of our Process and Productivity Practice Group.”
Davis came to the Hillsborough, N.J.-based firm with over 25 years experience at major retail and consulting organizations. On the consulting end, he previously spent more than 12 years as a senior manager and manager at KPMG Consulting and at Garr Consulting, a subsidiary of Deloitte & Touche. During those years, he advised retail and consumer products companies on technology, organization, productivity improvement, and cost containment issues, as well as turnaround strategies.
Prior to his consulting career, Davis spent a total of 14 years with retail and consumer product service companies such as RGIS/Marketing Force, The Athlete’s Foot, May Department Stores, and the Jewel Food Stores division of Albertson’s, Inc. Most recently, the Seaford, Del. resident was president of C-StoreMatrix.com, Inc., a start-up Internet marketplace for the convenience store industry.
