Levitz Team Recognized With Karp Spirit Award

Herb and Robert Levitz, the father-son furniture sales team was honored, by Leda Furniture recently at a sales ceremony, with the prestigious Steve Karp Spirit Award here during the International Furniture Market in High Point. Richard Graves, Leda Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for the United States presented the Karp Award to the Levitz family who represent Leda in the metropolitan areas of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. “It is truly an honor for us to recognize the tremendous sales effort Herb and Robert make everyday in representing and building the Leda brand in their area,” noted Mr. Graves. The Steve Karp Spirit Award is named in memory of the long time New York area Leda Sales Representative who refused to be satisfied with just attaining his goals. He was a strong advocate of promoting Leda with a positive attitude while striving to improve both personal and corporate results. “His never-say-never ‘can do’ attitude exemplified the level of determination he always exhibited in his attempts to surpass established objectives,” said Marco Confalone, President of Leda Furniture in speaking about Mr. Karp who lost a long battle with cancer about four years ago. “He was unique; if you were against Leda, you were against Steve,” he added. Herb Levitz is a life long furniture salesman representing leading furniture companies. He succeeded his father in the Harry Levitz Furniture Sales Agency a number of years ago and his son Robert is the third generation involved in the company founded by his grandfather. Herb and his wife Judy have three children and reside in Rockville Center, a fashionable suburb of New York. Robert also lives in the New York area and shares the sales responsibility for Leda with his father in the vast geographical area and large population base in their territory. The Steve Karp Spirit Award is presented annually to the Leda Sales Representative who best mirrors the principles and determination of Steve Karp in his efforts to ensure the development, growth and prosperity of Leda Furniture in his area.
