Rodney England, president of England/Corsair, has been elected president of the American Furniture Hall of Fame for 1999-2000. Other officers are first vice president; Robert Sligh Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of Sligh Furniture, second vice president; Rob Culp, chairman and chief executive officer of Culp Inc; and Tom Powell president of Directional, secretary/treasurer. Steve Kincaid, president of Kincaid Furniture and Clarence Smith, senior vice president and general manager of Haverty Furniture, were elected to the board of directors. Other directors include: Jerome Bolick, president of Southern Furniture of Conover; Barton Bienenstock, publisher of Furniture World; Bob W. Bush, vice president of Hickory Springs Manufacturing; Joseph Carroll, publisher of Furniture/Today; Bill DeRusha, chairman and CEO of Heilig-Meyers; Donald Dreher, president of DMI Furniture; Doug Fenn, president of Tell City Chair; Ed Gerken, CEO of Norwalk Furniture; Irwin Lowenstein, of Rhodes Furniture; Joe Richardson 111, president of Richardson Bros.; John Vaughan, CEO of Vaughan Furniture; Wayne Wickstrom, vice president of Leggett & Platt; Melvyn Wolff, chairman and CEO of Star Furniture; and Jeff Young, president of Lexington Furniture.
