GERS Retail Systems, a leading supplier of business solutions for the retail industry, announced the introduction of new auditing capabilities within its flagship Enterprise1 application. Designed to increase asset control for retailers, GERS’ Enterprise1 Version 10 provides even greater information integrity through a detailed, behind-the-scenes, transaction log that tracks all changes to a retailer’s enterprise system. By presenting store managers with sophisticated reporting tools to analyze price changes, quantity changes, and item exchanges, Enterprise1 Version 10 provides better visibility into changes within the store system, leading to improved loss prevention and increased GMROI. "By recording what changes are made in the system, who made those changes, and when, we’re giving retailers the tools to investigate cash shorts, inventory shorts, and sales orders with an open balance," said Don Vander Beke, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Support for GERS Retail Systems. "With Enterprise1 Version 10, we’re making it easy to quickly establish an audit trail that will help retailers detect fraud and reduce inventory shrinkage." Within this latest version, any change an employee records on the system may be accessed by managers through a detailed online report. Easy to use, Enterprise1 tracks merchandise at each step along the way, from ordering to receiving all the way through to delivery at the customer’s door. By improving the audit trail, managers have the data to easily identify, track, and resolve potentially fraudulent transactions. Version 10 also helps retailers answer critical questions by providing details on inventory movement and sales orders with an open balance. "This version offers managers a more sophisticated and secure way to audit sales and inventory information whenever they need it, whether it’s every hour, every day, or once a month," added Vander Beke. Other benefits of Version 10 include improved system performance through the implementation of Oracle 8i, which provides the framework for Internet computing, XML, and Java. Enterprise1 Version 10 is platform independent, and is supported on SUN, IBM, EMC/Data General, and Hewlett Packard.
