Therapedic International Teams With Antinori To Launch Florida License For Brand

Therapedic International reported that former Spring Air President Steve Antinori has re-entered the mattress business by launching Sleep International, LLC, a new Therapedic International license for Florida along with partner Adam Weinman.

“We couldn’t have chosen better partners. I’ve known and admired Steve and Adam for a long time and am thrilled to welcome Sleep International into the Therapedic family,” said Therapedic President and CEO Gerry Borreggine. “Florida is emerging as an important market in the mattress industry. With Steve’s understanding of the licensing and retail business, we know Florida will become a bigger market for us.”

“We considered several business opportunities before deciding to become a Therapedic licensee,” said Sleep International’s Weinman. “We realized it was the best fit for our brand. Therapedic has a strong name we can build on that has recognition with consumers.”

Antinori is widely respected in the mattress industry for strong customer relationships with leading retailers and being one of the first manufacturers to embrace latex mattresses. He was the largest Spring Air licensee at the time of the company’s rollup and sale to HIG in 2008. After the sale, he spent his time focused on other family businesses, but had a strong affinity for the mattresses industry. Weinman, most recently worked for a Comfort Solutions licensee in Miami, but he and Antinori worked together for more than a decade when Weinman was president of Orthomatic, an adjustable bedding company owned by the Antinori family.

Therapedic International is a 54-year-old mattress and sleep products manufacturer, with over 50 licensees producing products under the Therapedic brand label throughout the world.  It is a recognized top-10 mattress brand, and has significantly increased its brand awareness and distribution in the related sleep products categories over the past five years.
