Surya recently announced the donation of 300 operations for children with unrepaired clefts in need through Smile Train. Smile Train is dedicated to providing cleft lip and palate surgeries to children in developing countries. Surya donated one child’s surgery on the behalf of their top 300 customers. Smile Train has challenged other donors to match Surya’s generous gift which will result in twice as many surgeries.
“In these tough economic times, the donation from Surya means more to us now than ever before”, said Delois Greenwood, Executive Director. “With their support we will be able to help more children and provide more smiles than we ever thought possible. We are honored that Surya choose to support Smile Train this holiday season. Working together, we will give hundreds of children a second chance at life.”
The donation was made in the name of Surya’s top customers in 2010. “Although we are a for-profit company, our mission is to serve our community in bringing a positive change. With our customers continued support, I am very confident that we can do more to contribute to children’s future next year,” said Satya Tiwari, President of Surya.
Smile Train (www.smiletrain.org) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization headquartered in New York, NY.
