Gabberts Design Studio & Fine Furnishings, a premier high-end furniture retailer and one of the strongest, independent furniture brand names in the country announced the expansion into two additional markets: Sioux City, Iowa and Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Plans to grow the Gabberts brand across the upper Midwest were part of the acquisition plan in late 2008 by parent company, HOM Furniture. This announcement confirms part of that expansion plan.
The new Gabberts locations will capitalize on the strong infrastructure, buying power, distribution network, extensive service footprint and the marketing strength of HOM Furniture. Utilizing the resources of the Design Studio inside Gabberts 63,000 square foot flagship store in Edina, Minnesota will afford a higher level of design services in these new markets.

Both locations will adjoin HOM Furniture showrooms. The Sioux City location will occupy an expanded 2nd level of the HOM Furniture showroom in a recently renovated Younkers Department Store in downtown. Gabberts will enjoy a new storefront adjacent to the newly expanded 80,000 square foot HOM Furniture in Sioux Falls.
Construction is underway at both locations and Grand Openings are planned for early spring 2011.
