Art Van Furniture announced that it is teaming up with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves to make sure every child in Michigan has a toy under the tree this holiday season. "Toys for Tots" collection bins will be located throughout all 33 showrooms statewide.

For more than 60 years, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves has collected and distributed new, unwrapped toys to less fortunate children.  Nationally, the marines handed out over 10 million toys in 2009.  Art Van Furniture is a longtime supporter of the annual holiday campaign.

"It doesn't take much to put a smile on a child's face," said Art Van Elslander, founder and chairman of Art Van Furniture.  "We encourage anyone who can donate, to donate," added Van Elslander.

The goal of the "Toys for Tots" program is to make sure every needy child receives at least one gift under the tree.  Guests may help by donating a new, unwrapped toy for a child and bring it to any Art Van store until December 14, 2010.  Toys will be delivered to local children by Christmas Day.  No toy guns please.
