Mattress Firm, Inc., one of the nation’s leading specialty mattress retailers, announced that it has purchased Maggie’s Enterprise, Inc. and acquired its 26 Mattress Discounters locations in the Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads, VA marketplace.
Maggie’s has operated its mattress retail operations since 1986 under the Mattress Discounters’ name pursuant to a long-term license agreement, which will remain in place. As a result of the strong leadership position and brand awareness in the Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads markets, the stores will continue to operate as Mattress Discounters. President of Maggie’s, Roger Magowitz, will join Mattress Firm as the Charitable Advisor, a new role to the company. He will spearhead charitable and philanthropic efforts and continue to focus on the Seena Magowitz Foundation, which raises money and awareness to find a cure for pancreatic cancer.
