Ashley Furniture HomeStore Houston announced that it will reveal the winner of the "Drab to Fab" room makeover designed by former HGTV Design Star finalist, Torie Halbert. The room makeover was awarded at the July 3rd grand opening of the new Ashley Furniture HomeStore at San Felipe and the 610 Loop. KHOU-TV encouraged viewers to submit an application including a picture of the room that needed the Ashley Furniture HomeStore touch. Among the numerous applications eleven finalists were selected to attend the grand opening in hopes of being the winner. Christina and David Castillo from Galena Park proved to be the most deserving entry.
Thursday, August 19th Ashley Furniture HomeStore and KHOU-TV will unveil the newly redesigned room on Great Day Houston at 9 a.m. The Castillos and Halbert will walk the viewers through the makeover process including before and after footage.
Halbert's original vision for the room makeover began as a single room redesign that evolved into multiple room upgrade thanks to Ashley Furniture HomeStore's affordable furniture and accessories.
Halbert stated, "The best part of the makeover is a combination of beautiful furniture and fabulous accessories from Ashley Furniture HomeStore and the flooring provided from MOHAWK and to see it all come together was beautiful."
