He served as a member of the AHFA Packaging Committee that developed the testing standards now known as "Rule 181", the furniture industry packaging test standard. He has also held key positions in the past with the Specialized Furniture Carriers Association, and was instrumental in their merger with the American Home Furnishings Alliance Suppliers Division.
