The IHFC High Point that two companies experiencing encouraging sales will open new showrooms to the IHFC for the Fall Market, Oct. 17-22, 2009.

“With the growth of our company, we felt like the timing was right for the move,” said Deborah Linkhorn, Director of Marketing for Leather Italia. The company will increase its showroom presence by about 50 percent from its former space at The Atrium," Linkhorn said.

Similarly, Lynn Hamilton, Director of Sales and Marketing for Oriental Accent, cited the changing marketplace and buyers’ shrinking travel budgets as one of the motivations for her company’s decision. “Buyers are spending fewer days at Market, and are more efficient with their time."

As always, Hamilton said, her company will be bringing a number of new introductions to Market. Known for its fine hand-painted porcelains, hand-painted and handcrafted furniture, lighting and accessories, Oriental Accent’s new space is on the Second Floor of the IHFC’s Hamilton Wing, H234.

Leather Italia will exhibit on the Twelfth Floor of the IHFC’s Design Center, D1220. The company has added a new division, Embassy, and plans to show upwards of 25 new frames, including nine new freestanding recliners. “We’ve added warehouse space, increased our inventory, expanded our line all to better serve our customers,” Linkhorn added. “We’re fortunate to be having a very good year.”

Opening in 1921, IHFC was the original showroom building in High Point and after 88 years of expansion remains the centerpiece of the world’s largest home-furnishings trade show that attracts more than 80,000 participants twice a year to 2,000 showrooms covering 11.5 million square feet. IHFC alone is home to 650 of the leading home-furnishings manufacturers, including 13 of the top 20 companies, and covers 3.5 million square feet.
