John Thomas Furniture, a division of Whitewood Industries, announced that it has expanded its line of casual dining furniture options with its newest collection, “Leisure,” which further establishes the company as a complete source in the casual dining market. “Our new Leisure Collection, a variety of castored dining combinations, was developed in response to customer demand,” said Bryan Sprinkles, Sales and Marketing Manager. “The downturn in the economy has left a supply void in this niche segment (Leisure). We are fortunate to be in a position to address and fill the void for customers seeking a reliable, solid source that understands the market, the shopper, and has the distribution channels to get needed product on their floor quickly,” he said. “Because Casual Dining is what we do, we understand the style and price points that customers in this category are looking for,” Sprinkles said. “And that we are able to react quickly to customer demands – gives us a competitive advantage, that most companies simply do not have.” The Leisure Collection includes castored dining sets, with special emphasis on comfort and style. The sets start at $699, and include double pedestal extension tables with light oak, dark oak, or almond Formica tops and metal bases. Castor chairs with comfortable back and seat cushions “Customers who buy castored dining sets are unique because they aren’t just looking for the latest styles or finishing options,” Sprinkles said. “One of their top priorities is also selecting a product which provides maximum in comfort.” As a result, the company devoted much time and attention to ensuring the comfort of the chairs, from the foam in the cushions to the pitch of the chairs. No detail was overlooked in product development, he said. Whitewood Industries Inc.’s divisions include, Whitewood Ready-To-Finish (unfinished furniture), John Thomas (casual dining and custom finish programs), and International Concepts (supplier to specialty retailers). Whitewood Industries’ employs 120 Thomasville, NC residents with manufacturing, warehousing, corporate offices, and showroom facilities, incorporated, reaching 350,000 square feet.
