Raffel Systems Powers Reclining Heated Movie Theater Seats

Furniture World News Desk on 12/8/2018

Raffel Systems, a provider of “smart furniture” technology for residential, contract and bedding companies, reported that it is heating things up for movie goers at several North Carolina Triad movie theaters.  The Raffel power recline and heat control operates plush leather recliners and allows patrons to recline and, in some cases, even regulate the temperature in their seat.

“It’s always exciting seeing our technology in motion,” said Paul Stangl, President of Raffel Systems.  “The recline and heat control is the perfect example of partnering with a furniture company and elevating their product to the next level by integrating our technology,” continued Stangl.

Theater chains AMC, Cinemark and Regal, all with theaters in the Triad area, have added premium seating to provide their customers an experience as comfortable as their living room at home. As temperatures drop, theater seats are heating up in both temperature and function. Gone are the days of standard movie seats as theaters make room for cozy and comfortable seating to draw movie goers into their theater.

“I’ll certainly be seeing more movies in theaters with seats like these,” said Steve M. a local Greensboro movie patron.  “Being able to recline my seat made me feel as comfortable and relaxed as being in my own home.”

“Many times, our technology is hidden and really is the sparkle that brings excitement to furniture,”
said Stangl. “We believe the sky is the limit and are always looking for new partnerships and new ways to expand.”
