Al Fresco Functional Fabrics Launches The Wesley Mancini Outdoor Fabric Collection

Wesley Mancini, Ltd., recently announced that it has launched a new outdoor line of fabrics with Al Fresco Functional Fabrics.

Wesley Mancini, Ltd., is owned by Wesley Mancini, the International Textile Alliance (ITA) lifetime achievement award winning designer. Mancini has teamed up with industry leading outdoor fabric trendsetter, Al Fresco Functional Fabrics.

The new line, which is expected to change the landscape of outdoor fabric design, debuted at Showtime in High Point in early December. ITA is a non-profit business alliance, founded in 1990 to promote its members, their professionalisms and to foster a fair working environment. This objective is pursued primarily through Showtime, the biannual trade show held at Market Square Complex in downtown High Point.

“I’m excited about working with great people and delving into a new market (for me),” Mancini said. “The outdoor market is prime to be tapped into with more variety of patterns and constructions. My association with Al Fresco Fabrics is a wonderful opportunity to expand my brand as well.

The collection will feature more than 35 new designs, incorporating a wide array of new colors, novelty yarns, and constructions. Made in the United States, all fabrics are bleach-cleanable, anti-microbial, and UV resistant, with a durable quality that you can expect for any lifestyle. Al Fresco Functional Fabrics are designed to add an element of culture and conversation to your home, or anywhere you live comfortably.

Mancini is a world-renowned designer of home textile fabrics whose designs have been instrumental in the success of many retail programs. As a supplier of fabrics to the industry, Mancini fabrics have been present in virtually every major upholstery and/or bedding manufacturers’ line and retailers’ floor. In addition, Mancini designs a signature rug line for Due Process Stable Trading Company, the rugs are sold through stores like Neiman Marcus and ABC Carpet & Home in New York City.

Mancini received his BFA from Philadelphia University (formerly called Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science) and completed his MFA at the prestigious Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. Upon completion of his master’s degree in 1977, Mancini entered the work force as a designer of upholstery fabrics. In 1983, he incorporated Wesley Mancini, Ltd., as an independent studio of textile designs.

During his career, Mancini has been recognized by the industry as a design leader through numerous awards. He has been included twice in Metropolitan Homes “Design 100” issues, and has received the “DuPont Creative Leadership Award”, the Home Fashion Products “HomeTex” award, as well as a National Endowment of the Arts Grant for fabric design.

In 2014, Mancini was presented the inaugural International Textile Alliance Lifetime Achievement Award voted on by its members of 200 mills from around the globe.
