STORIS Introduces Four New Inventory Features to Provide Visibility Across Retailers’ Supply Chains

Furniture World News Desk on 1/25/2022

Supply chain management and inventory availability remain a significant challenge for home furnishings retailers. To support its retailers, STORIS introduces four new inventory-related interfaces for greater visibility across retailers’ supply chains.

Anthony Urciuoli, VP of Product Management at STORIS notes, “these new interfaces add layers of pertinent inventory data. This insightful information is above and beyond the detailed availability data STORIS already provides our retailers regarding their own on-hand inventory and incoming Purchase Orders. These new interfaces are effective tools to fulfill more customers’ orders faster.”

The first interface enables a retailer to integrate with their manufacturing partners to view “Vendor Quantity On Hand.” This lookup allows a retailer’s sales associates to easily view the inventory levels for a product within their manufacturer’s inventory. Additionally, a new process, “Search for a Vendor Product,” displays quantities for a vendor’s products that may not be a part of the retailer’s standard line-up.

The second enhancement taps Ashley Furniture Industries’ new API that enables retailers to directly access AFI’s product data feed. Previously, the AFI product import could be run on-demand. Now, utilizing AFI’s new API, retailers have the ability for the import to be scheduled to run automatically.

The third is enhancements to STORIS’ interface with RetailDeck. “Buying Group In-Stock Availability & Product Images” provides users of RetailDeck with the option to include a Buying Group’s in-stock availability of merchandise, as well as link to product images in STORIS. In cases where a Buying Group acts as a retailer’s supplier, this enhancement provides valuable product data.

Last but not least, a new set of STORIS APIs called “Product Read” enables retailers to sync product data from their STORIS database and display this information on their third-party website. For retailers building their eCommerce strategy, “Product Read” is an introductory web integration. This enables retailers to offer standard inventory data to their customers online including product details and pricing. Another significant application of “Product Read” is for use with Digital Price Tags. With “Product Read,” retailers can get inventory pricing and price changes to their digital signage without any additional effort.

“Though each of these interfaces serve a unique purpose, their common goals align to provide visibility across retailers’ supply chains. With inventory being a continuous challenge in the market, the more information on quantities, availability, and pricing retailers have to inform their strategy, the greater success they’ll have in meeting customer demand,” commented Urciuoli.
