Thomasville and Drexel Heritage Plan New Joint Showroom for Winter Las Vegas Market

Furniture World News Desk on 12/23/2012

Thomasville Furniture and Drexel Heritage Furniture announced their return to the Las Vegas Market for the winter show taking place Jan. 28 to Feb. 1.

The two industry majors, both part of Furniture Brands International, will be showing together in a 12,000-square-foot showroom in space B-570. The companies will split the space, showing their latest collections of case goods and upholstery in two adjacent areas of about 5,000 to 6,000 square feet each. This is their first showing in Las Vegas since 2011.

“We need to be where our customers are, so having a strong presence at the Las Vegas Market is an important part of our business strategy,” said Ed Teplitz, president of Thomasville and Drexel Heritage, based in Thomasville, N.C. “The Las Vegas Market’s team worked hard to find us the right spot so that we’re in a prominent position, easy for our retailers to access and near other major exhibitors.”

Teplitz added that he and his teams are “looking forward to meeting with our retailers in the West and other regions and sharing the great progress we’ve made to make both our brands more relevant for today’s consumers. It will be a great chance to discuss our new programs and plans for growing our business together.”

In Las Vegas, Thomasville will feature several whole-home collections of case goods, occasional and upholstery introduced at the October High Point Market. They include Banyon Bay, a refined casual contemporary collection with mixed media elements such as crushed bamboo and woven raffia, simple silhouettes and refined detailing; American Anthem, a new American Craftsman-style collection in maple with metal and leather accents inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement; and Manuscript, a bedroom and upholstery collection of black-and-white designs accented with polished nickel hardware and bold finishes.

At Drexel Heritage, the spotlight will be on Viage, a collection of more than 40 globally influenced designs. In case goods, Viage’s features include layered moldings, intricate joinery, hand-accented veneer patterns and metal star details. The collection’s textiles are inspired by three distinct lifestyles: Mountain Lodge, featuring outdoor themes; West Coast, a casual, relaxed clean look; and European, with an acquired feel.

“The addition of Thomasville and Drexel Heritage adds two powerful brands to our roster of exhibitors,” said Craig Staack, vice president of home furnishings leasing for International Market Centers. “They provide another big reason why Las Vegas is a ‘must visit’ destination for leading home furnishings retailers looking to strengthen their product assortments.”
