Leggett & Platt Announces Bedding Leadership Changes

Furniture World News Desk on 6/25/2020

Leggett & Platt recently announced that Eric Rhea will retire from the Company in mid-July.  Eric joined Leggett in 1988 and served in various capacities before moving into his role as Vice President and President of the Bedding Group, which includes the company’s U.S., Mexico and South American spring businesses.  For many years, Eric has led the Bedding Group through his strategic oversight of sales and operations, product development and engineering.  Most recently, Eric helped with the ECS acquisition integration and operational changes in our broader bedding business.

President and Chief Operating Officer Mitch Dolloff commented, “I would like to thank Eric for his many years of remarkable leadership and tremendous contributions to Leggett & Platt.  We wish Eric great success as he moves on to a senior role at a large building materials company.  I know that Eric will bring great value and leadership in this newest stage of his highly successful career.”

Leggett also announced the promotion of Holt Montgomery to Vice President of Operations for our domestic Bedding business.  Holt joined Hanes Companies, their fabric converting and geo components businesses, fifteen years ago, and he rose quickly through various roles of increasing responsibility. Most recently, Holt was Senior Vice President of Hanes Companies, responsible for operations, as well as IT, logistics, engineering, acquisition integration, and capital project spending and planning.

Holt’s new role will continue the work Eric started, focusing on operations at our Rod, Wire, U.S. Spring, Adjustable Bed, and Specialty Foam businesses. He will report directly to Mitch Dolloff in his role as Bedding Segment President.
