Heritage Sleep Concepts Triples Manufacturing Space

Furniture World News Desk on 1/15/2020

Heritage Sleep Concepts, the Southeastern licensee for mattress brands Eclipse International and Eastman House, announced that it has tripled its manufacturing footprint here with its move into a new 120,000-square-foot factory. The additional space was needed to accommodate the manufacturer’s growth with regional retail powerhouses like Farmer’s Home Furniture and Macys.

The company had outgrown its previous 40,000-square-foot factory. The company can produce about 1,200 mattresses a day in the new facility.

“Our family has strong roots in the mattress industry, and our growth over the last four years with the Eclipse and Eastman House brands has been incredible,” said Frankie Beck, managing partner of Heritage Sleep Concepts. “The move will allow us to better serve our customer base of strong bedding retailers. As we move into our centennial year, we are looking forward to continued growth.”

Beck attributes the company’s partnership with Eclipse and Eastman House for solidifying Heritage Sleep Concepts as one of the fastest growing, independent bedding resources in the Southeast.

“We’ve been working with Heritage Sleep for five years; joining forces with them when the family returned to the bedding business,” said Stuart Carlitz, president and chief executive of Eclipse International. “The company, the family and the management team are great partners to help us expand our business in the Southeast.”

Heritage Sleep Concepts, a fifth-generation, family-owned manufacturer, has a rich history in the industry. The company’s predecessor Sanford Mattress Co. was founded in 1920. In 1973, under the leadership of Terry Spears and Glenda Spears, the company moved to Rome, Georgia, and was renamed the Spears Mattress Co. In 2008, the company was sold to a private equity group, and the Spears family retired shortly after. In 2015, the family, including Terry, his two daughters and two sons-in-law founded Heritage Sleep Concepts and partnered with Eclipse and Eastman House.
