Pleasant Mattress Names Mike Moore Chief of Staff

Independent mattress manufacturer Pleasant Mattress reports that it has named Mike Moore to the newly created position of chief of staff. Moore, who has been with the company for eight years and has nearly 25 years’ experience in the bedding industry, will continue to oversee sales and marketing for Pleasant Mattress.
Rion Morgenstern, president and chief executive officer of Pleasant Mattress, created the position for Moore, who has been a trusted advisor and admired senior executive in the company for nearly a decade. Moore will be a senior advisor and thought-leadership partner who will advance the corporate mission and strategic goals of the company. He is charged with driving the company’s internal strategic priorities and representing it at industry and public events. The new responsibilities for Moore will allow Morgenstern to spend more time strategizing and focusing on the Pleasant’s growth.
“Mike has been an integral part of our organization for eight years, and during that time, he has earned my great trust and faith. We’re putting more responsibility on Mike to be the leader of leaders within our organization,” Morgenstern said. “He’ll also continue to be my sounding board and a provider of honest feedback as we continue to grow.”
Morgenstern said the company’s recent growth through the acquisition of the manufacturing arm of San Francisco-based McRoskey and the additional expansions with its licensing partners has created additional priorities for him.
“My responsibilities are now pushed further outside the company in looking at Pleasant Mattress’ strategic growth,” Morgenstern said. “I rely on Mike to check my blind spots, and ensure my vision translates to the planned growth trajectory.”
