The International Furnishings and Design Association recently announced that two key players in their The New York Chapter (IFDA NY) have been named finalists in the 30th annual ARTS awards taking place on Friday, January 18.  David Santiago of Casa Santi, Vice President of the Chapter and President-elect, is a finalist in the Interior Designer Category.  Designer Charles Pavarini III of Pavarini Design, an IFDA Circle of Excellence recipient for his interior design work, is a finalist in the Product Designer Category.

The ARTS Awards, announced each January during the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market, is the premier awards program in the U.S. honoring top manufacturers, retailers, designers, and sales representatives in the home industry. They are presented by Dallas Market Center and ART, the creative home furnishings network.

“I am honored to be a finalist in these awards,” said Santiago, who has more than 20 years in the design arena.  To Santiago, design is a celebration of a client’s taste, not some strange concept or radical idea that gets lost in translation.  “Design should be fun,” concludes Santiago.  He has furniture and wallpaper lines in development and is also a classically trained opera singer.  Whatever is at hand, his talent and integrity shine through.

“I am looking forward to a great awards ceremony and congratulate all the finalists in this esteemed competition,” said Pavarini.  Pavarini has participated in the prestigious Kips Bay Decorator Show a number of times and is on the Advisory Board of the New York School of Interior Design. His product designs include carpets for Samad, a leading producer and importer of fine handmade decorative rugs, numerous lighting pieces and a line of outdoor furniture called The Original Lawn Furniture Co.
