Universal Celebrates Men’s Luxury in Richmond

Universal Furniture Announced that it has joined forces with Richmond-based custom men’s clothier Alton Lane, Moore & Giles leather and Elijah Craig spirits for an evening called “The Perfect Fit” in Richmond, Virginia, Nov. 14. Catering to local businessmen and women along with couples, the event brought together the key elements that define a man’s style: his clothing, his furnishings and his choice of spirit.
 
More than 70 men and women attended the event held at the Alton Lane showroom, which was outfitted with three vignettes filled with leather sofas, cocktail tables, chairs and recliners from Universal. “From Richmond businessmen and women to interior designers to local digital influencers, it was a full house,” said Universal Furniture Director of Marketing Neil MacKenzie.

“We were really pleased with how this event came together,” contined MacKenzie. “To execute a non-traditional event with three other brands all catering to the same audience was a great opportunity for us and our local retail partner, Williams and Sherrill.”

Along with trying out the leather furnishings from Universal, attendees perused the Moore & Giles mobile showroom and were fitted for clothing using Alton Lane’s 3D scan technology.

“We made this event more about defining your own style than selecting furniture for your living room or den,” said MacKenzie. “It’s about reaching the customer in a new way, and making them think about furnishings as part of their overall mode of expression.”
