High Point Market Authority Releases the High Point Market Style Report for Summer/Fall 2018

Furniture World News Desk on 6/6/2018

The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) has released this season’s much anticipated High Point Market Style Report for Summer/Fall 2018.

This 17-page report was developed by eight home fashion gurus, all part of the HPMA’s 2018 Style Spotters team, who scoured the Spring High Point Market (April 14-18) for the hottest must-have items and then translated their picks into today’s top trends. The report highlights 18 different trends, ranging from “Celebration of Minimalism” to “Materialistic”, from “Form Driven Inspiration” to “Colour & Creative Craftsmanship”, and more. In all, the report features 91 different products from 64 different High Point Market exhibitors. All trends in the Style Report for Summer/Fall 2018 may be found and downloaded at www.highpointmarket.org/products-and-trends/summer-fall-2018-style-report.

“It’s always intriguing to see Market through the individual eyes of each Style Spotter, as each has such a distinctive design style,” commented Style Spotter Emeritus Michelle Jennings Wiebe in her intro for the report. “With so much ground to cover, it’s nearly impossible to see everything, no matter how many steps you put in. So, sit back and enjoy these fabulous pieces. Find your favorites and see which trends you think will become stronger over the next year.”

Style Spotters who contributed to the Style Report for Summer/Fall 2018 include:

  • Michelle Jennings Wiebe, ASID, Studio M
  • Michel Smith Boyd, Smith Boyd Interiors
  • Mary Douglas Drysdale, Drysdale, Inc.
  • Stacy Garcia, Stacy Garcia Inc.
  • Bria Hammel, Bria Hammel Interiors
  • Jeffrey Johnson, Jeffrey Design LLC
  • Justine Macfee, Catherine Macfee, Inc
  • Holly Hollingsworth Phillips, The English Room
  • Sarah Walker, The Curated House by Sarah Walker

The Style Spotters program, launched during the October 2011 Market, features home fashion pace setters that showcase their favorite products and top trends from High Point Market exhibitors via Pinterest, a pre-Market Twitter Chat, the at-Market Style Spotters LIVE! event, this post-Market Style Report and various media interviews.

Led by Michelle Jennings Wiebe, a veteran of the 2013 program and HPMA’s Style Spotter Emeritus, each Style Spotter serves for two Markets over a calendar year. When they source a treasure at Market, they present exhibitors with a sign that highlights the Style Spotter’s name with a QR code and URL for the High Point Market Pinterest board. The Spring 2018 Pinterest boards can be found at www.pinterest.com/highpointmarket.

The Style Spotters program is co-sponsored by Crypton, Inc., a leading provider of high-performance fabrics and Sherwin-Williams, the nation’s largest specialty retailer of paint and painting supplies.
