Hooker Furniture Debuts “Amani” Collection at High Point Market

Furniture World News Desk on 4/14/2018

Hooker Furniture recently announced that they are set to debut a new 20-piece collection at High Point Market. Amani is inspired by a sophisticated approach to a life of leisure, the collection’s modern, yet casual style evokes memories of a place of refuge and retreat with its tranquil mix of organic materials and tonal wood tones. The collection includes dining room, occasional and accent pieces.

Characterized by a mix of natural materials, the group includes stone, sandblasted capiz shell accents, raw metal details in a soft zinc finish, natural jute rope and lattice details. Combined with natural pecan veneers in three calming tonal finishes: Brie, a grey-tone with organic reeded details, Chakra, a casual white with weathered distressing and Almond Buff, a lime washed tonal finish with subtle texture, Amani creates inviting spaces that epitomize a life of leisure.
“No matter what your idea of the perfect hideaway is – from a tropical resort to a casual bed and breakfast to an ultra-luxe Montana spa – Amani sets the tone for leisurely style and a relaxed ambience,” said Pat Watson vice president of merchandising at Hooker Furniture. “In visualizing the concept, we didn’t have a specific location in mind, rather, we sought to create items that would strike the same chord as when you visit the place where you are most at ease and happy – anywhere in the world.
“To achieve this, we drew upon current design trends that pair materials in their natural state with finishes that allow organic color tones to dominate. Imperfections that represent the ‘fingerprints of nature’ are celebrated,” he continued. “What makes Amani unique is that, while it is causal, it has an elevated level of sophistication. You’ll see varied textures and rich finishes that elevate the look beyond styles that are available in the marketplace today. It’s a look that our high-end retailers have not yet been able to find.”

Two dining table styles anchor the 10-piece dining room collection. Designed with casual style, but meeting the size requirements of a larger dining space, the 90-inch rectangular dining table extends to 112-inches with one leaf. Distinctive casual design details include rounded table top ends and a lattice-style table base with metal details. A round table with a natural jute rope-wrapped base is available in a 48-inch diameter top and a choice of a thick wood top in the Buff Almond finish or a natural Crema stone top. Chair options include a side and arm chair with chevron pattern detailing on the backs and a casual occasional-styled chair with natural jute rope details and a blend down loose back cushion. Highlights of the serving and storage pieces include an open display cabinet in a two-tone finish of Chakra and Buff Almond, a four-door credenza with capiz shell door fronts and a bar cabinet with pierced metal details on the door fronts.
Ten occasional and home entertainment pieces round out the collection. Highlights include a natural jute rope wrapped cocktail table with glass accents, a sculptural spot accent table and an etagere.
