American-made, modern kids’ furniture brand, Mod Mom Furniture, and  toddler furniture maker, Little Colorado, recently announced an exclusive North American licensing partnership.

After appearing on ABC’s hit TV show Shark Tank, Mod Mom founder and CEO Kiersten Hathcock continues to grow her garage-built furniture line in the US and abroad. Partnering with Little Colorado—a family-owned, highly-respected children’s furniture company established in 1986—provides the opportunity to expand production and distribution of existing and new, heirloom-quality “Mod Mom” designs throughout the United States and Canada.

“As a mom of two and self-taught carpenter, I put my heart and soul into designing and producing safe, well-made kids’ furniture right here in America,” Hathcock said. “I was thrilled to learn Little Colorado feels the same way I do, and has successfully made it their mission to do just that for three decades.”

Little Colorado—led by co-owners Bill Hare and his wife, Noelle Baker—already builds and ships millions of dollars of modern toddler furniture from its Denver-based factory and is looking to double revenue in the next three to five years by launching new product lines like Mod Mom Furniture.

“All of us at Little Colorado are excited to be partnering with Kiersten. When Noelle and I bought Little Colorado two years ago, we saw it as an opportunity to become the undisputed leader in US made, wooden toddler furniture. Too much of what our toddlers play with is plastic or made in China. We plan to change that situation, and our partnership with Mod Mom Furniture takes a big step toward our goal. We will be handling the day-to-day business, but we are looking forward to Kiersten’s continued involvement in future design and branding efforts,” said Hare.

“The icing on the cake is the toy boxes themselves,” he added. “These are truly unique designs that we are privileged to be manufacturing and marketing. We intend to establish all of Mod Mom’s current product line during the course of 2018 and then work with Kiersten on new designs for the years to come.”

Mod Mom’s top selling Gracie Toy Box will be available at littlecolorado.com by the 22nd of January for delivery in early February. The Owyn Toy Box is next up and should be ready for pre-orders in February. Signed and dated limited edition runs will be issued for each toy box style. Customers and retailers should be able to order the full line of six different Mod Mom toy boxes by this summer.

Hare elaborated, “In addition to its availability on littlecolorado.com, the line will retail on major e-commerce sites and in independent brick and mortar stores throughout North America. Over time we will let demand determine the size of the limited-edition production runs, but as these are premium, handcrafted toy chests, we will emphasize quality over quantity.”

“I am beyond excited to partner with such a stellar, heart-centered manufacturer who definitely knows a thing or two about thriving domestically in an industry that has gone overseas or has gone out of business,” added Hathcock. “This new partnership is a wish come true for me—my idea of the American dream, indeed.”
