An overwhelming majority of The International Home Furnishings Market Authority (IHFMA) Board voted in favor of changing market dates to late March and late September. As a result of the 7:1 vote, Market dates were changed beginning in the fall of 2006. Shortly after this decision was made, a conflict with the religious holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Ramadan were found. Markets will run Monday-Sunday, beginning with the October 2006 show. The new dates for 2006 are: 2006 27 April – 3 May 16 -22 October 2007 26 March – 1 April 1-7 October 2008 31 March – 6 April 22-28 September 2009 23 – 29 March 5 – 11 October 2010 22-28 March 27 September- 3 October 2011 28 March – 3 April 19-25 September 2012 26 March-1 April 1-7 October 2013 18-24 March 23-29 September 2014 24-30 March 15-21 September 2015 23-29 March 28 September-4 October In a related story, the High Point Enterprise (www.hpe.com) reported today that IHFMA President Judy Mendenhall plans to step down from post by the end of this year.
