Cornerstone Health Care providers will continue to provide free minor medical care to the visitors to the October 2005 Market in cooperation with High Point Regional Health System and the International Home Furnishings Market Authority. James C. Anderson, MD, Vice-President of Cornerstone Health Care and founder and manager of the project, confirmed that care will again be provided from the Hospital's HOPE Unit, which will be located in a central location on Wrenn Street, behind the Radisson Hotel. Cornerstone providers will man the 44-foot-long bus-like health care facility from 10 am until 5 pm, Wednesday October 19 through and including Tuesday, October 25. The minor medical care program was introduced in October, 2003 with the number of patients increasing each market. Grace E. Terrell, MD, President of Cornerstone, said the bi-annual contribution of personnel, medications and supplies by this large physician group is a tangible way in which the company, which is the among the top ten employers in High Point, shows its support of this major economic event. “Market is important to every one of us, and I encourage other business leaders in the Triad to explore ways they may use their company assets to make High Point the best experience it can be for our visitors,” Dr. Terrell added. According to Judy Mendenhall, President of the IHFM Authority, the service continues to be greatly appreciated by market goers, “We are pleased with the positive feedback we receive about the free convenient care made available to our out of town visitors by Cornerstone Health Care and High Point Regional Health System. Each Market more visitors access this valuable medical service, and it has become a significant benefit to them, and one they rely upon should they become ill while they are doing business here.” Medical care providers will be prepared to treat headache, cough, ear ache, vomiting/diarrhea, rashes, sinusitis, stomach ache, conjunctivitis, bladder infection, allergy symptoms and other minor conditions.
