Capel Incorporated Launches Las Vegas Showroom and New Introductions Including Western Themed Rugs

Capel Incorporated, manufacturer and importer of area rugs since 1917, will introduce 27 new lines at the first Las Vegas Furniture Market in July. Retailers will preview Capel's latest designs in its new showroom in the World Market Center. New collections will include casual, traditional, outdoor, and exclusive contemporary looks. "We're excited about our new showroom in Las Vegas, and we're looking forward to the opportunity to build better relationships with our West Coast customers and to attract new customers," said Allen Robertson, Vice President and National Sales Manager. "We've created six new contemporary styles that we're introducing specifically for the western marketplace, and I think they'll draw a lot of attention." Capel's Las Vegas showroom, part of the World Market Center, located in space 226, is more than 4,000 square feet and will be open year-round Monday through Friday, 702-384-7847. The Las Vegas showroom marks Capel's eighth permanent showroom in the United States and Canada and its first in Nevada. CONTEMPORARY: Crystalle – The Crystalle collection is a sophisticated new contemporary with a distinctively western feel. Available in five designs, the collection features diamond and other abstract shapes and rich colorways. Crystalle is hand knotted from 100% pure wool. Prism – Prism is a contemporary collection of original area rug designs by southwestern artist Jennifer Moore. Available in six patterns, each combines straight lines, angles and various shapes with a palette of warm earth shades. The collection is hand tufted in India from premium 100% Wools of New Zealand. Tempo – Capel has added colorways wheat, garnet and steel to its contemporary Tempo collection. The new rugs have an abstract feel and are hand tufted of 100% New Zealand wool, then triple washed for a silky surface pile. Fantasy – Fantasy is new and, now, the largest contemporary collection Capel offers. The hand tufted collection features three designs, Astral, Ellipse, and Tiles, and 13 colorways. The rugs have an energetic, three dimensional look created by the interplay of shapes and forms in each design. This is the most aggressively priced Capel contemporary collection to date. CASUAL OUTDOOR: South Beach – South Beach is a sisal-looking outdoor/indoor collection that features 3" Sunbrella® fabric borders. In fabrics exclusive to Capel, the collection includes four rugs with striped Sunbrella fabric and four rugs with bright Sunbrella solids, called Canvas. Made with a strong, 100% olefin woven center, South Beach is sunlight, fade and soil resistant, quick drying, lightweight, and comfortable underfoot. Seabreeze – Seabreeze is a new outdoor/indoor collection with a 100% olefin construction and tailored design that works well indoors or out. Woven in Belgium on a sisal-look loom, the collection includes six rugs in tiled and checkered patterns and rustic colorways ranging from brick red to oatmeal. Al Fresco – Al Fresco features southwestern motifs in a durable outdoor/indoor construction, combining more colors than any Capel outdoor/indoor rug to date. Available in three styles, Diamonds, Sedona and Maya and a variety of colorways from bronze to turquoise, the collection is made from 100% olefin and can withstand weather and hard wear. ARTS & CRAFTS: Damask – A new loop hooked collection that features a tone-on-tone floral design, Damask is a soft, transitional look for interiors. The collection is available in four colorways, charcoal, indigo, suede, and raisin. LODGE/COUNTRY: Laredo Tiles, Laredo Patches and Chapparal – Laredo Tiles and Laredo Patches, two styles that are part of the new Laredo collection, are hand stitched area rugs with a 100% authentic cowhide face. A luxurious blend of texture, warmth and pattern, each rug is made by combining different hides together in a patchwork, and each rug is essentially a one-of-a-kind. Chaparral features three designs made by hand stitching cowhide and ostrich skin, making each rug unique. Tartan– Inspired by colorful patters of the classic Scottish tartans, Capel’s Tartan collection is reversible and, made of a multicolor wool blend that will bring you back to the Highlands. The collection is available in concentric rectangular shape and a variety of classic tartan colorways. (Image not yet available). TRANSITIONAL: Tropicale – The Tropicale collection is loop hooked and designed in seasonal motifs. Its four designs include Flowers, Shells, Fruit, and Leaves. Lotus –The newest collaboration with licensee Colonial Williamsburg, Lotus is a hand knotted floral pattern made from super-dense, super-soft 100% New Zealand wool. The collection is hand knotted in an Indo-Nepal look and finished with a luster wash for extra sheen and a silky feel underfoot. NATIVE AMERICAN: Navajo - Capel also will highlight its Navajo rugs, part of its Woven Spirits collection. These rugs celebrate the ancient textile weaving tradition of the American Navajo tribe. They are hand woven by Navajo weavers on authentic Navajo looms and signed by the artisan weaver. Designed by Rachel Brown, a renowned New Mexico textile designer, these rugs use the finest super-deluxe hand-dyed wool yarns in both warp and weft and will likely become valuable works of art.
