100% Design, the internationally renowned commercial contemporary design exhibition, will be held at Earls Court 2 in London from Thursday 22 September to Sunday 25 September 2005. Promising an exciting line-up of established manufacturers and designers, side by side with scores of first time exhibitors and upcoming design talent, the show will build on its tried and tested successful formula of ensuring the exhibition hall is packed with brand new designs, all of which have been selected by 100% Design’s professional advisory panel. Designed by Richard Greenwood, with creative direction by Tim Pyne, the space will aim to provoke and surprise visitors, providing a relaxed and open environment in which to do business, network, explore, be entertained, be informed, and relax whilst enjoying the work of over 450 designers. 100% Design’s role in providing a platform for emerging design talent continues apace. This year, the show will award ten exhibitors a 100% Design Bursary – offering discount off the winner’s stand cost. The recipients are chosen by the 100% Design advisory panel and, to date, winners include: Autoban, Dapple Glass, Whitegoods and Sheldon Cooney. Meanwhile, 100% Design continues its commitment to designers through its collaboration with, and subsidy of, groups such as Design Nation, Hidden Art and undu graduates. In 2004 the show supported over 75 designers in this and similar ways. The increasing international appeal of 100% Design ensures that once again it is a great opportunity to see many international products previously unseen in the UK. Over 70 countries were represented at 100% Design in 2004, many of them showing in the UK for the first time. This year’s seminars, coordinated by Scarlet Projects, will be themed on a daily basis, addressing the professional status of interior designers and architectural inspiration. More information will be available on the website: 100percentdesign.co.uk - a full seminar schedule will be released in July. The number of first time exhibitors has grown by 40% over the last two years, making 100% Design the place to see new design. First time exhibitors for 2005 include: Arper S A, Plank, Tre Ce Luce, Siematic and Arc Linea. International stands, featuring the work of designers from Spain, Denmark and Germany are all confirmed. Visitors will also be able to see the latest designs from established exhibitors including SCP, David Mellor, Dornbracht, Formica, Tom Dixon, Magis and Duravit. The 100% Guaranteed guide publishes a series of offsite events organised to coincide with the show. Details are available on the website for those wishing to be listed; the complete guide will be distributed at the end of August.
