Room & Board to Open New Distribution Center in Rogers, Minn.

Room & Board, a Minneapolis-based furniture retailer offering unique home furnishings that combine classic, simple design and exceptional quality, announced today it will relocate its Minneapolis distribution center to Rogers, Minn. in May 2005. The new distribution center will help support the growth of Room & Board -- which recently expanded into the New York market and plans to open a store in San Francisco later this spring. The new location will house Room & Board's entire furniture inventory and will service all of the retailer's locations nationwide. Room & Board has signed a six-year lease for the building, which is located at 215 South Diamond Lake Road in Rogers. The building, which was built in 2004, is approximately 200,000 square feet, has 32-foot high ceilings and offers 18 docks. Room & Board will be the building's first tenet. Room & Board's delivery operations, including the customer pick-up area, will remain at its current location. All 25 Room & Board employees currently working at the company's Minneapolis distribution center will relocate to the new location 25 minutes from Minneapolis. Jerry Testa will be the new distribution center's manager. Tom Hauschild of the Tegra Group has been instrumental in Room & Board's property acquisitions over the past three years, including the new distribution center in Rogers. The listing agent for the Rogers property was James DePietro of CB Ellis, and Marfield Belgarde & Yaffe are the property managers.
