Activists Storm Universal Furniture

According to EarthCulture, the Greensboro based environmental organization recently stormed the Universal Furniture headquarters in High Point, NC. EarthCulture Programs Director, Rick Spencer and Intern Chris Newsom staged a sit-in until Universal agreed to meet with them. The group is calling for an end to un-sustainable mahogany logging and associated rainforest destruction and the displacement of indigenous peoples. No arrests were made.
