Sealy Donates Mattresses To "Give Kids The World Village."

Ron L. Jones, chief executive officer of Sealy Inc., announced that the company will donate more than one hundred mattress and boxspring sets to the Give Kids The World Village in Kissimmee, Florida. Give Kids The World is a non-profit organization that provides children who have life-threatening illnesses with trips to Walt Disney World in nearby Orlando. "A newly expanded facility will enable Give Kids The World to accommodate up to 5,000 visiting families annually, and Sealy is proud to be a part of this worthwhile venture. This opportunity complements our global marketing strategy and plan for strategic growth in the worldwide market," says David Mcilquham, vice president of marketing, Sealy Inc. The king- and twin-size mattress sets will be included in the new Give Kids The World Village, scheduled to open in spring 1998. Families of sick children from around the world can enjoy a six-day Central Florida vacation including accommodations, attraction tickets, local transportation, housing and meals at the 51-acre Give Kids The World Village. Sealy is the largest manufacturer of bedding in North America, serving more than 7,000 retail outlets from 25 plants in 18 states as well as in Canada and Mexico. The company is targeting strategic growth in the global marketplace through licensing deals with manufacturers in Asia, South America, Africa, the Middle East and the UK.
