AFMA Marketing Division Features Industry Leaders

The Marketing Division of the American Furniture Manufacturers Association (AFMA) will hold its 1998 summer meeting August 6-9 at The Westin Resort in Hilton Head Island, SC. Many timely and informative presentations are scheduled for the business sessions, including presentations from the top brass of leading manufacturing and retailing companies. Furniture Brands International President Mickey Holliman will present strategies and their results for that company, and Haverty's President and CEO Jay Slater will discuss important issues from a retailer perspective. NHFA President Jim Cerza will provide an NHFA Update & Report on Heilig-Meyers. Corporate sales trainers from Dayton-Hudson and WG&R Furniture will review their training programs and provide ideas on how manufacturers can assist in this all-important function. In addition to these, many other programs of interest to marketing and other management executives are planned for this meeting. The meeting begins with a reception and dinner on Thursday evening, August 6. Business sessions run from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, August 7 and 8. A Captain's Choice golf tournament will be held Friday afternoon. Registration materials have been sent to AFMA member companies. Room reservations must be made at The Westin Resort by July 14 in order to receive the discounted AFMA rate.
