AFMA'S IT Division Elects New Officers

The Information Technology Division of the American Furniture Manufacturers Association elected 2002-2003 officers at its annual meeting earlier this month in Asheville. Ames Flynn, vice president and chief information officer at Thomasville Furniture in Thomasville, was elected president. Additional officers are Stanley Kirkwood of La-Z-Boy Inc. in Monroe, Mich., first vice president; and John Perry of Century Furniture in Hickory, second vice president. Talmage Fish of Hooker Furniture Corp. in Martinsville, Va., moves to chairman of the board. The division also elected a new member to its Board of Directors. Cathy Coleman of Ethan Allen Inc. in Danbury, Conn., was elected to a one-year term. AFMA's IT Division promotes best business practices and associated uses of IT in the home furnishings industry. It provides training and professional development for IT executives and is working to develop, promote and publish standards for e-commerce.
