Since May 2011, Sleepy’s, the Mattress Professionals, has steadily donated beds and bedding products to various organizations and individuals in need via its community relations program, “Bedder Days.”

Donations include:

  • Rebuild Tuscaloosa, an organization in Tuscaloosa, Alabama helping the victims of the tornado in April – Sleepy’s supplied over 50 mattresses of various sizes to assist those currently in the process of moving back into their home.
  • IMC – Sleepy’s donated two TempurPedic Queen-sized beds to an injured soldier (and his caretakers) who returned to his Staten Island, NY home in June.
American Red Cross – For the victims of the June tornado in Springfield, MA, Sleepy’s donated approximately 125 twin beds.
  • George to the Rescue – To aid a family whose home was destroyed in a fire, Sleepy’s donated four twin beds for the rescue segment.
  • Extreme Makeover Home Edition – Sleepy’s provided mattresses to a Massachusetts family struggling to cope with the loss of a child
  • Clean House – Segment consisted of two makeovers for families with debilitating allergies. Sleepy’s relieved the family with non-allergenic mattresses and bedding.

"At Sleepy’s, we are humbled to work with such generous organizations and it is rewarding to see that our donations allow those in need to regain precious sleep,” says Adam Blank, Sleepy’s Chief Operating Officer. “If a mattress can help change the life of an individual or the lives of an entire family or local community, we are happy to provide product when needed.”

“The mattresses donated by Sleepy’s play a pivotal role in our rebuilding efforts after our town was devastated by a tornado this past April. This donation is helping us transform people’s lives – at the critical time when they are finally ready to move back into their homes," explains Leah Bromley, founder of RebuildTuscaloosa.org, "People in need can finally “rest easier” in a new bed in their own homes, thanks to Sleepy’s and Bedder Days.”
Sleepy’s continues to respond to immediate situations, such as those caused by natural disasters, as well as evaluating individual and organizational needs to donate the most appropriate mattresses or furniture so that all can have a “bedder day”.
