Hickory Springs, one of the country’s largest integrated manufacturers and suppliers of components for the furniture and bedding industries, announced its partnership with leading lifestyle brand, Panama Jack, to produce a complete line of convertible furniture products.

Following a licensing agreement signed by the companies earlier this year, Panama Jack is launching its first home furnishings line, the Panama Jack Home Collection, debuting at retailers nationwide this summer. The Convertibles line features 11 mattress-and-frame ensembles from Hickory Springs, which go from plush sofa to comfortable sleep surface with one swift movement. It is part of what the company calls “the next generation” of futons.

“We call this product ‘Convertibles’ because the futon has evolved to be a much more stylish, high quality and versatile product,” said Hickory Springs Executive Vice President Dwayne Welch. “Panama Jack is a brand that is youthful and adventurous but also resonates with 50-year-olds who know the name from when they were children. This partnership is part of our commitment to elevate the category and help RSAs sell a more fashionable, higher end product for use in the living room, den or vacation home.”

The collection consists of a selection of 11 stylish solid wood frames and two different mattress options. The eight-inch mattress features the company’s Preserve® bio-based foam and fiber.  A 10-inch version offers an extra level of support with an innerspring unit in addition to Preserve® foam and fiber. Retail price points range from $699 to $1,299 per convertible ensemble.

In addition to Preserve®, the line features eco-friendly components from Hickory Springs’ EarthCare Inside line, including recycled steel in the innerspring unit and recycled cotton in the cotton-poly blend coverings.
Six foam-only models comprise the starting category, Urban Retreat ($699), while the premium Passport Collection ($999 to $1,299) consists of five innerspring models. Four of the top models incorporate hand-woven rattan and wicker embellishments in the frame.

“We are excited about partnering with Hickory Springs,” said Panama Jack President Kim Manna. “The ease, versatility and eco-friendliness of its Convertibles line are thoroughly compatible with Panama Jack’s lifestyle brand and values.  It’s a great addition to our new Home Collection of furniture.”
