The Greater New York Home Furnishings Association reported the completion of a successful golf outing held at Lake Isle Country Club in Eastchester, NY.

Abraham Feinblum of Julius Feinblum Real Estate and current president of the IHFRA-affiliated organization noted that, "Our annual event is a chance for local reps, retailers, manufacturers and suppliers to have a fun, relaxing day of golf, great food and networking. This year was no exception. The weather was beautiful and the venue was both convenient and affordable."

The highlight of the evening was the presentation the 67th annual Meadoff Award for Sportsmanship to Tony Bellarosa of Furniture Concepts, representing Klaussner Furniture. Tony who was at once surprised and delighted to receive the award spoke eloquently about his years in the furniture business.

Jordan Greenberg of Apropos handed the award to Tony, saying, "This award was instituted by my grandfather, the late Hal Meadoff in honor of his father A.S. Meadoff, a respected member of the NY home furnishings community. This award is special because reflects the recipient's life-style behavior, sense of fair play and  fair-mindedness. Personal relationships in the industry, social consciousness and support of  humane and philanthropic causes are attributes carefully considered by the awards committee. These were the characteristics that Sam Meadoff had, that made him so revered by his peers. Former recipients meet each year to review and choose  an individual to receive this honor. Congratulations Tony."

Said Jennifer Sova, GNYHFA's Chapter Administrator who flew in for the day from High Point, "The course was great and the golfers had a wonderful time. The winning team was Ashley Furniture, with golfers Dennis Spiegel, Frank Arroyo, Mike Siegel and Anthony Alvino. Steven Zalta, Lenny Kharitonov, Jack Staab and Alan Granetz were named 'most honest golfers'.  Robert Stockell had the longest drive, and Mike Santoliquido was closest to the pin."

"We are grateful for the companies and individuals who sponsored this evening," added Abraham Feinblum at the conclusion of the outing. "Special thanks to Cory 1st Choice, Planned Furniture Promotions, Raymour & Flannigan Furniture, Julius M. Feinblum Real Estate, Rick Powell, Karel Exposition Management, HFIG, Lexington Furniture, Klaussner Home Furnishings, Furniture Transport Group, MFA of New Jersey, Ashley Furniture, Web4Retail, Unlimited Furniture Group, Furniture Concepts, Gans Brothers, Apropos,  Furniture World Magazine and a special thanks to Tommy Leflein who donated his time and talent to photograph the event."
