La-Z-Boy annouced that it will introduce EcoComfort™ by La-Z-Boy at the upcoming High Point show.

La-Z-Boy will offer a selection of popular sofas, recliners and chairs with a soy-based foam cushion option as well as several eco-friendly fabrics.

“Many customers want to make environmentally-friendly choices, but don’t want to sacrifice quality or comfort to do so. EcoComfort by La-Z-Boy is a first step in providing customers options that comfort both body and mind,” said Doug Collier, chief marketing officer for La-Z-Boy.

EcoComfort by La-Z-Boy will debut by offering soy-based foam cushions as an option on several existing frames, including the #528 “Larson” full motion sofa group, the #451 “Talbot” stationary group and the #464 “Carlyle” contemporary recliner. Soy-based foam is made from soybeans, a renewable resource, leaving a smaller environmental footprint.

The company also is introducing 22 eco-friendly fabrics in a wide variety of prints, solids, cottons and even eco-suedes that are all gentle to the touch and offer supreme comfort. Some of the most environmentally-friendly fabrics available today, EcoComfort by La-Z-Boy fabrics have been certified by OEKO-TEX, the world’s definitive ecological certification process, ensuring a more environmentally-friendly material for consumers’ homes. For example, five eco-suede fabrics utilize recycled plastic bottles in their production, reducing waste and pollution. The fabrics will be available on the entire line of La-Z-Boy upholstery.

“We’ve selected a range of product styles and fabrics to make eco-friendly options available to all customers,” said Paula Hoyas, vice president of merchandising for La-Z-Boy. “No matter what their décor, the EcoComfort by La-Z-Boy line will look great and help customers feel great, too.”

EcoComfort by La-Z-Boy will be on display with all of the company’s latest products April 7 through April 10 at the La-Z-Boy showroom located in Space 103 of the Furniture Plaza Building in High Point, N.C. Scheduled to begin appearing in stores by fall 2008, EcoComfort by La-Z-Boy will be available through La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries®, La-Z-Boy Comfort StudioSM dealers and anywhere genuine La-Z-Boy® furniture is sold.
