Mattress Firm Hires Media Director

Mattress Firm, one of the nation’s leading specialty mattress retailers, announced that Dan Palmisano has been hired to the position of media director.

In his new role with Mattress Firm, Palmisano will be responsible for establishing goals, objectives and strategies for media buying and managing the company’s media agency.

Palmisano comes to Mattress Firm with more than 15 years experience in media planning and buying. In his most recent position, Palmisano served as associate media director for Rhea & Kaiser Marketing Communications, where he was responsible for planning and implementing traditional and interactive media for the agency’s consumer clients and developing strategic media plans focused on reach and effectiveness to the target audience. Other agency work experience includes Young & Rubicam, W. B Doner and Company, and Kelly, Scott & Madison. Palmisano has worked with leading national companies such as Lincoln Mercury and Pfizer.

“Dan brings with him a wealth of experience buying and managing media planning for some of the nation’s leading brands,” said Bill Dandy, executive vice president of branding for Mattress Firm. “That experience and knowledge will allow Dan to make an immediate impact in his new position. Palmisano is a graduate of Michigan State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising.
