Metropolitan Home and the New York Design Center will host the seventh annual Design Cares charity auction and holiday soiree on December 9th, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Design Cares brings together the design community to celebrate the holidays and to raise money to support Furnish a Future, NYC’s only free furniture bank for newly housed and formerly homeless families, a program from Partnership for the Homeless. Over 100 companies have donatedproduct for a HIGH-STYLE SILENT AUCTION—items range from luxury home furnishings to home accessories and holiday gifts—the proceeds of which will benefit the charity.

“I look forward to Design Cares every year. It is a true honor to co-host an event that makes a difference to so many in the New York City community,” says Metropolitan Home’s Editor-in-Chief, Donna Warner. “We have a wonderful group of donors this year, and we are grateful for their support in helping us raise money for Partnership for the Homeless.”

This year’s HIGH-STYLE SILENT AUCTION includes products from a variety of home and lifestyle purveyors, including Molton Brown, Karastan, Design within Reach, Benjamin Moore, W Hotels Worldwide, Donna Karan Home, Reisenthel, and Knoll, to name a few.

The auction offers attendees the opportunity to shop for beautiful gifts just in time for the holidays, with all of the proceeds going to charity. Attendees will bid on silent auction items while enjoying a festive evening of delicious desserts and cocktails from Marani vodka. Additionally, donations for the charity will be collected at the door.

“As for many of us, this is my favorite time of the year as I anticipate another successful event benefitting Furnish a Future,” says Jim Druckman, President and CEO of the New York Design Center. “Design Cares is a wonderful celebration for those of us in the design arena as well as the general public, as it gives us the opportunity to give back to the larger NYC community.”

The annual Design Cares event is open to the public and will be held at the New York Design Center located at 200 Lexington Avenue from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9 th.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the silent auction will benefit the local non-profitorganization Partnership for the Homeless and their Furnish a Future program.
