Kincaid Furniture announced that it is joining the fight against breast cancer as the exclusive living room furniture sponsor of the second annual Build for the Cure Show Home in the Charlotte, NC suburb of Fort Mill, SC.

The Susan G. Komen foundation’s Build for the Cure home is located in the Springfield Community in Fort Mill, just south of Charlotte, NC, and will be used to raise funds and awareness for the Susan G Komen Fund, the largest grassroots initiative for finding a cure for breast cancer.

The entire main level living room for this custom built 5,700 square foot house will be fully furnished with Kincaid upholstery and casegoods including two Berkley sofas, covered in Camille fabric, a St. Paul chair, covered in Bella, a round ottoman, covered in Elizabeth, a sofa table and end table from the Laura Ashley Sturlyn collection and a rush seat bench from Kincaid’s American Journal collection.  The central living room is the focal point for the home’s main level interior.

“Kincaid is proud to be a part of the Build for the Cure home,” said Todd Hady, vice president of Kincaid. “Being able to furnish the living room in this beautiful home that is sure to raise lots of money for the Susan G. Komen foundation is quite an honor. It’s the least we can do for such a worthy cause.”

The Build for the Cure show home is part of the national events focused on breast cancer awareness during the month of October. The house is open to the public for throughout October.  At the end of the

show home’s run all the furnishings and accessories will be auctioned to raise more funds for the Susan G. Komen Fund.

Extending the message of breast cancer awareness and treatment, the home will be featured on PBS’s acclaimed show, For Your Home, hosted by Vicki Payne, in its fall, 2009 series. Shows incorporating the home’s construction, interior design and landscape architecture will air beginning in November on more than 700 PBS stations across the U.S.

E.S. Johnson Builders started construction of the Southern Traditional home in January and it was completed in September. Special events, workshops, and tours will take place with all proceeds benefiting the local affiliate of Susan G. Komen.
