Icovia announced that it has developed a social media version of its interactive Icovia(R) room planner targeting the home furnishings and interior design industries. Designs created within a retailers' Icovia planner by customers can be posted to their wall with a single click. Icovia can also be launched directly from a company's Facebook Fan Page. Whether being accessed from the retailer's website, or their fan page on Facebook, their 'fans' can create, furnish, and share floor plans with their social network, thereby generating additional brand exposure and registered sales leads.

"The majority of Facebook users are now over age 25(1), the prime target market for Icovia's home furnishings retailer customers," commented Steve Street, CEO of Icovia. "90% of consumers trust peer recommendations more than any other source. We provide retailers with an incredibly simple means to reach the friends of their customers through the integration of their Icovia room planner with Facebook."

When a consumer posts an Icovia floor plan design on her Facebook wall, the Icovia design automatically appears in the news feeds of her entire social network, with a link that launches a copy of that design from within Icovia. Friends can view the design, and if they register, copy the design and make changes of their own.

"The average Facebook user has 120 friends," continued Mr. Street. "Should 100 of a retailers' users post a design to their Facebook wall, 12,000 of their friends would be exposed to the design in the retailers' branded planner. The potential for growing a retailers' brand awareness is tremendous. Any retailer or manufacturer can immediately social media-enable their marketing effort just by working with Icovia. In addition they gain the power of the industry leading room planner that has proven results."

Nielsen reports that there are over 250 million Facebook users, and that people spend more time on Facebook than any other website. iStrategy Labs reports that fastest-growing Facebook demographic is baby-boomers, with a 513.7% increase in the 55-and-older crowd in the first half of 2009.
