Vanguard Unveils new Dellwood Chair

Designed by Michael Weiss, the Dellwood Chair includes an exposed wood swivel base available in 70+finishes.

Vanguard recently unveiled their new Dellwood Chair, designed by Michael Weiss. Although it has a mid-century vibe, The Dellwood Chair is distinctively original. The frame is external, and thick, resilient cushioning rests within the supporting structure. It offers all the comfort of a sumptuously padded surface while applying the elegance of minimalism.

Its shape makes it highly versatile. It works well in pairs providing stately symmetry, but it can also stand alone as a sculptural entity and works with contemporary, traditional and transitional design themes. You can’t say that about many pieces of furniture. The swivel feature makes it an ideal conversational chair.

“This frame offers ample opportunities for customization” said Weiss. “The exposed wood base is crafted from quartered ash, a wood renowned for its grain patterns, which can be finished in any of Vanguards 70+ custom finishes or any paint. The top and body are padded and fully upholstered, and can be shown monolithically in the same fabric or in contrasting fabrics and leathers. A delicate line of nails visually separates the top from the body.”
