Floor covering and home accents manufacturer Nourison reports it's highlights for 2017 color and texture trends. From the Oscars to Fall 2017 runway shows throughout New York, London, Milan, and Paris, texture and shine are making their way from the fashion industry to flooring.

Everything from dresses and evening gowns to coats and accessories are utilizing mixed textures and fringe, as seen on Nourison’s luxurious Aldora Area Rug Collection, with a sumptuous hand-woven texture and a soft sheen. The Michael Amini Brilliance, Glistening Nights and Zambiana Area Rugs Collections are right on trend with lurex knits on the runway, adding an element of sparkle. The new Divine area rugs have natural, mixed textures with a subtle shine, which accents their high-low, hand-woven fabrication. Silk Shadows, Twilight and the Calvin Klein Home Maya Area Rug Collection are all examples of incorporating shine and elegance.

Other runway trends include structured clean lines, mixing fabrics and layering looks for added texture. These fashion trends are evident in Nourison’s broadloom carpet collections, including the Nourtex Euro Collection with Athens and Paris applied patterns and hand-carved Mediterranean Collection. The Gingham Collection follows the ‘70s plaid theme with Garnet and Sage plaid designs.

As interior trends continue to evolve, consumers are looking for unique and interesting pieces to cover their floors. A well-crafted area rug or broadloom carpet can serve as a focal point and highlight a space or it can be subtle and serve as a pedestal for other dramatic pieces in a room. Nourison strives to stay on trend and is sometimes fortunate enough to set a trend. The goal is to have the right products that both the high-end and value-driven consumer would be proud to have in their living space.
