Riverside Updates Farmhouse with Coastal, Architectural Flair

For the Fall High Point Market, casegoods major Riverside Furniture announced that it is offering a fresh take on farmhouse in the Cora bedroom and dining room collection, featuring a coastal flair that layers in current architectural trends. “Cora was well-received by retailers at the recent High Point Premarket,” said Harrison “H” Kelly, Vice President of Product Development for Riverside.
“What retailers liked were the subtle coastal details and elements from current housing trends that we incorporated,” he said. “These details add appeal and relevance to the design without making the style too specific to any one genre,” Kelly added.
The collection mixes four finishes including the primary clean casual white Cloud, a lightly-distressed gray Fog on case tops and Mist blue and matte black on accents, giving a curated designer look to the group. Adding to the updated coastal modern farmhouse style, Cora taps into architectural trends including matte black windows, fixtures, roofs and vintage tile patterns, along with vertical shiplap, louvered panels and board-and-batten construction.
Constructed of select hardwoods and random-matched Oak veneers, most pieces are finished in the elegant, clean, casual white Cloud with contrasting tops in Fog, a soft gray lightly-distressed veneer finish. The soft blue Mist is on a demilune nightstand, and the matte black finish is on the round accent mirror and the hardware.
Board-and-batten details are on one of the panel beds, demilune nightstand and sideboard, along with vertical shiplap details flanked with louvered panels on another bed and selected cases. The matte black custom hardware is inspired by the popularity of matte black windows, roofs and fixtures in today’s homes, while patterned drawer bottoms are inspired by vintage black and white tile patterns.
