Cory Announces New Leadership Appointments

Cory Home Delivery has recently announced new leadership appointments adding to their executive team, who are responsible for the strategic and financial management of the business.

As of April 1, 2018, Kevin Cory has rejoined the organization as Chief Operating Officer.He is responsible for providing vision and leadership to ensure the company has the right people, the right operational controls and sound information to effectively manage financial strength, efficiency and growth.

Prior to Cory, Kevin held various positions in the financial industry, specifically in research and portfolio management. In 2001 Kevin held the positions at Cory as an Assistant Facility Coordinator, moving up to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager and was finally promoted to Managing Partner and COO. For a brief period, he left Cory to go back to the financial world and in 2015 he accepted a seat as member of Cory’s Board of Directors, a role he presently maintains.

Kevin is the grandson of Joseph Cory, founder of Cory and son the Cory’s past President, Jim Cory (1939-2012).

Also joining the executive team is Controller Shirley Disbrow. Shirley joined Cory in 1998 to provide administrative support for the accounting department. She obtained increased responsibilities and was promoted to Accounts Payable Manager with joint oversight of payroll and commissions. Recently, Shirley was promoted to Controller, and now oversees Cory’s finance division.

In 2017 Shirley was recognized as an honoree among the Home Furnishings Business’s “Top 40 Under 40.” She is also member of the Women@Cory. Shirley holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Rutgers University.

Additionally, Cory welcomed Rolando Suarez to the team as the Director of Information Technology Services. Rolando will be leading all aspects of operational technology infrastructure and strategic business application solutions for Cory.

Prior to Cory Rolando was the director of IT Infrastructure for AvMed Health Plans in Miami, Florida and the Director of Information Technology for Discovery Networks Latin America Division. His career spans over three decades of diverse technical and management experience. He has worked as a technology consultant specializing in Visual Data Analytics, Database Management Systems, Financial Reporting, Accounting and ERP Systems. Rolando has nineteen years of experience as an adjunct professor and an instructor of Computer Information Systems at Miami Dade College, the University of Miami and St. Thomas University, Miami.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Houston, TX and a Master of Science in Management Information Systems from St. Thomas University, Miami, Fl.
