Jim was a son of the founder of Cory First Home Delivery.
Cory First Home Delivery announced that James (Jimmy) P. Cory (1939-2012), retired managing partner of Joseph Cory Holdings, LLC, passed away at home on September 10, 2012.
Jim was a son of the founder of Cory, a family owned and operated company since 1938, and presided as President and Chief Operating Officer from 1959 to 2008 when the third generation of the family began overseeing the company and Jim, along with his brother Joe, became managing partners.
Jim’s legacy was his passion and drive for a successful, smooth running warehouse operation, amongst his many other accomplishments. He was instrumental in the development and writing of the Cory Way – Standards of Excellence which continues to be the bedrock set of principles governing Cory to this day. Jim was the Standard of Excellence.
James (Jimmy) Cory is survived by his wife, Leslie; his son Kevin and Ann his wife, with their three children Peter, Alexandra, and Reed; his daughter Kerstin, and her husband Betto; his brother Joe Cory, Sr. and his sister Grace Tsokanos. Beyond this immediate family, Jimmy lives on in the memories and hearts of an uncountable chorus of family, friends, and associates that lament his passing.
Memorial services will be held at Our Lady of Carmel Church in Tenafly, NY on Saturday, September, 15th.
