The International Sleep Products Association recently announced that it has honored Gerry Borreggine, president and CEO of Therapedic International, and Bob Steelman, vice president of sales and marketing of Carpenter Company, for their outstanding industry service, during the 2018 ISPA EXPO Industry Breakfast in Charlotte, NC on March 16, 2018.

Borreggine received the Abolt Exceptional Service Award, the highest honor bestowed upon an individual member on behalf of ISPA. Borreggine was nominated by his peers for exemplifying outstanding devotion to the well-being and betterment of the bedding industry. Borreggine has demonstrated — within his community, industry, and his business — extraordinary personal integrity and perseverance in the pursuit of his individual and our common goals. His exemplary involvement with the industry includes serving as chair of the ISPA Board, as a member of ISPA’s Executive Committee and Board of Trustees, and on the Better Sleep Council and Finance Committees, as well as other key bedding industry events and programs.

“This award means a lot to me because ISPA means a lot to me. I am proud to be associated with ISPA, and receiving the Abolt Award is a treasured honor,” said Gerry Borreggine.

Steelman received the MacMorran Memorial Award in recognition of his outstanding service to the mattress industry. The award recognizes those individuals in active pursuit of commendable service to the sleep products industry as well as the Association.

“I love the bedding industry. More importantly, I love the people in this industry. I am very honored to be recognized by ISPA this way. ISPA has been an important advocate for the bedding industry during my entire 40-plus year career,” said Bob Steelman.

“The mattress industry is blessed with many dedicated, creative and hard-working individuals who have devoted their careers to not only their own companies but also to making the bedding industry and the world around them better,” said ISPA President, Ryan Trainer. “We are fortunate to have the opportunity to learn from and work with these leaders. Their commitment has helped shape the face of today’s industry and the success of ISPA. We are honored today to recognize Gerry and Bob for their contributions and service to the industry and the Association.”
