Furniture World News Desk on 3/1/2018

The High Point Market Authority recently announced its Keynote Series lineup for Spring Market, April 14 – 18, 2018. This season’s educational series features headliners Trisha Yearwood and Doug Stephens, The Retail Prophet, in two dynamic events. Each will share insights and business-building advice with High Point Market attendees.

Teaming up with multiple partners to produce the series, the sessions aim to enhance a buyer’s Market experience with timely, relevant and forward-thinking topics.

The first Keynote Series session will feature platinum-selling, Grammy Award-winning country music superstar, Emmy Award- winning TV show host, New York Times best-selling author and home furnishings licensee, Trisha Yearwood. Yearwood will help kick off the opening day of Spring Market with a special edition broadcast of her popular Facebook LIVE show, T's Coffee Talk, as she discusses her various business enterprises, shares her top business-building insights and dishes on building brand awareness. After her 20-minute chat, attendees are invited to stick around for an interactive viewing of Trisha’s cooking show, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen, complete with commentary from Trisha and a live Q&A session with her fans from around the world.

This session is sponsored by Klaussner Home Furnishings and will take place on Saturday, April 14, at 10 a.m. on Center Stage next to the Transportation Terminal. Market attendees are invited to join the session live, and those without a valid Spring Market pass can view the interactive broadcast on Trisha’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/TrishaYearwood.

Internationally renowned consumer futurist and best-selling author Doug Stephens, better known as The Retail Prophet, will focus on the all-important customer experience for the second session in the Keynote Series. Entitled, “The 5 Elements of a Remarkable Customer Experience,” this session will look at the retail experience of the future and the radical transformation consumer shopping is undergoing, both online and in-store.

With over 20 years in the retail industry prior to founding The Retail Prophet, Stephens now serves some of the most recognized retailer and consumer brands in the world, including Disney, Walmart, BMW, Microsoft and Coca-Cola, among others. His unique perspectives on retailing, business and consumer behavior have been featured in many of the world’s leading publications and media outlets including The New York Times, The BBC, Bloomberg Business News, TechCrunch, The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal and Fast Company.

This session is presented in partnership with the Home Furnishings Association (HFA) and sponsored by Synchrony Financial. It is scheduled for Sunday, April 15, at 3 p.m. in the High Point Theatre with a book signing to follow. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m.

“The High Point Market Keynote Series is valuable to attendees, offering relevant insights to help our buyers grow their own businesses,” says Tom Conley, president and CEO of the High Point Market Authority. “This season’s keynote speakers have decades of experience to share, along with topics to inspire, encourage and educate.
